TOWARDS A QUEBEC ECONOMY IN HARMONY WITH NATURE

The erosion of biodiversity directly threatens our economy and the well-being of our societies.

To address this challenge, the Economy, Biodiversity and Transformative Change dialogue day, held on September 23, 2025 in Montreal, brought together stakeholders from the business world, research, civil society, and government. The objective: to identify levers for change to better integrate biodiversity into decisions and practices in Quebec.

This report offers a summary, presenting both the main findings and the courses of action identified during this day.

Integrating biodiversity into financial and business practices in Quebec

Between February and March 2025, 38 organizations from the finance, research, non-profit, and other sectors helped define the conditions necessary to better integrate biodiversity into financial decisions in Quebec.

MUNICIPALITIES AND BIODIVERSITY

What are the levers and obstacles to implementing actions in favor of biodiversity for municipalities in Quebec?

This report provides a detailed inventory and illustrates how Quebec municipalities perceive their role in protecting biodiversity .

 

It highlights the main obstacles and levers influencing the action of municipalities in terms of biodiversity. In addition, the report identifies key players likely to support or assist them in their biodiversity protection initiatives. It also presents recommendations from these stakeholders to encourage commitment to biodiversity.
