As part of our commitments, Ateliers pour la Biodiversité will be present at the World Conservation Congress organized by the IUCN, which will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from October 9 to 15, 2025.
This event brings together experts, decision-makers, and field workers from around the world to discuss major conservation issues.
The Congress will focus on five main themes: strengthening action for resilient conservation, reducing climate change risks, promoting equity and inclusion, fostering the transition to nature-positive economies, and encouraging innovation and leadership in conservation.
We will pay particular attention to events and content related to the theme “Promoting the transition to nature-positive economies,” where several important motions are being proposed.
We will also have the pleasure of participating and collaborating in several events throughout the conference, including:
Mobilizing All Actors: A Prerequisite for the Protection of Biodiversity, October 11 - Canada Pavilion
The Frontlines of Conservation in the Americas: Models for Subnational Leadership to Advance Transformative Collaboration, October 11 - Americas Pavilion
Showcase Canada: Conservation in Action, October 11 - Nature Positive Pavilion
The Biodiversity Collage Workshop: A Ready-to-Deploy Tool to Understand IPBES Findings, October 13 - France Pavilion
Vote for Nature: A Game to Engaging Citizens and Decision-Makers, October 10, Canada Pavilion
These exchanges and meetings will inform our thinking and actions in order to support the concrete integration of biodiversity into economic decisions in Quebec.
