International Day for Biological Diversity, celebrated every May 22, offers an opportunity this year to highlight local actions with global impact within the Kunming-Montreal Framework. The 2026 campaign invites all stakeholders—governments, local and Indigenous communities, cities and local authorities, businesses, women’s and youth groups, as well as civil society—to act together to protect and restore biodiversity. It underscores that success depends on collaboration between local initiatives and government actions to translate global goals into concrete results on the ground.
