On September 23, 2025, the Economy, Biodiversity, and Transformative Change Dialogue Day was held, bringing together more than 100 participants from a variety of sectors—agriculture and forestry, biodiversity conservation, business and industry, energy and mining, finance and investment, government and municipalities, infrastructure and development, research and academia.

In light of the urgency highlighted in the latest IPBES reports, this strategic meeting aimed to explore how to better integrate biodiversity into economic decisions and identify levers for transforming ideas into concrete and sustainable actions, in line with the Nature Plan 2030 and international work on transformative change.
Objectives for the day
Share a common understanding of biodiversity issues.
Analyze the impacts and dependencies of different economic sectors.
Assess the effects of future scenarios on biodiversity and economic activities.
Define sectoral visions and a common vision.
Identify priority barriers and levers for action.
Determine the solutions and changes needed to move forward collectively.
highlights
The day was punctuated by a series of sectoral and cross-sectoral workshops, combining analysis, discussion, and co-construction.
The discussions were lively and constructive, highlighting several concrete avenues for action:
Tax and regulatory incentives promoting biodiversity.
Development of performance indicators to better measure impacts on living organisms.
Training for decision-makers and leaders to strengthen their understanding of the issues.
Improved access to nature and its essential services.
Cross-sector collaboration and joint development of concrete projects.
This day marks a key step in an ongoing process aimed at transforming dialogue into tangible action in order to sustainably integrate biodiversity into all economic decisions.
With the support of CRABE – Centre for Applied Research on Biodiversity and Ecosystems, a detailed report will soon be available to enable all participants and stakeholders to take ownership of the key ideas and inform the next steps for action.
We warmly thank all those who attended, our partners, volunteers, and team members for their commitment.
