Act now, collaborate more and become ambassadors: these are three key areas that emerged from the first Nature and Business Summit, organized by Ateliers pour la biodiversité on November 26 in Montreal.
“The Summit demonstrated beyond doubt that businesses can play a key role in nature’s regeneration and that solutions exist. However, their implementation requires ambition, collaboration and the support of all actors in society.” - David Roy, Executive Director of Ateliers pour la biodiversité
The speakers - leaders from business, research and environmental organizations - stressed that acting for nature is not only an ecological imperative, but also an economic priority. Protecting biodiversity strengthens the economy, improves well-being, preserves health and helps to better adapt to climate change.
Throughout the day, more than 50 speakers enriched the discussions and proposed concrete solutions to integrate biodiversity into the heart of business strategies. Among the themes addressed: leadership, valorization, regulatory framework, circularity, conservation, ecological connections, capacity building and transformative changes .

Summit participants left with a clear message: everyone has a role to play, and it is essential to build bridges and forge alliances today.
The Summit was made possible thanks to the collaboration of committed partners such as Fondaction, Habitat and Transfert Environnement et Société, who share the vision of a sustainable economy that respects nature.
